Another Great Rescue Story! this ones not mine it was sent to me via e-mail

Cherry is a Quarter horse Arabian mare who is
aged somewhere between 20 and 23. I have had her for about
a year or so. I got her from a friend of mine wholives down
the street from me. This girl had Cherry for about 4 yrs,
and I remember always wanting to go down to her house to see
Cherry. Before I got her something happened with the girl's
family and they decided that there wasn't quite enough money to
feed a horse so they kept her on bare minimum. I watched
her get skinnier and skinnier and she wasn't looking good at all.
One day the girl's dad came into the store and asked me if I knew
of anyone who wanted a free horse, and I asked him if he was
talking about Cherry. He said that he was and I told him
that I wanted her and that I would be down after work to look at
her. I took my fiance with me and we went to see her and
she
look just awful. Shaggy patchy winter coat and bones
sticking out everywhere. I took one look at her and said I'd
be over the next day to get her. The next day when I came
to get her I let the girl say good-bye and ride her for a little
bit and I told her that since we were friend that she was welcome
anytime to
come over and see her. I rode her home and put her in her
nice new pasture. She was sooo tired and hungry when she
got there that she laid down and was eating at the same time.
It took us about three or four months to get the weight back on
her and now she is as good as new. Sorry I don't have a
before picture.
That is the story of how we got Cherry! Jenn
